Almirante by cronotopos: Structural Optimization, Time, and Material
Designed for the Hotel Almirante, this sofa is born from the concept of Chronotopes: the relationship between time and place. Facing the Mediterranean, where light, salt, and use demand precision, the piece synthesizes material optimization and sensory experience.
Its detachable internal metal structure, finished in matte black, is optimized in section and weight following principles of nautical architecture: strength where necessary and lightness where possible. Without superfluous mass, each profile responds to a clear structural logic, like the frame of a ship. It rests on technical nylon glides that reduce friction and protect the flooring.
The seat incorporates high-density polyurethane foam wrapped in polyester fiber to balance firmness and softness, prioritizing recovery and performance with minimal volume.
The backrest, in soft, comfortable 35 kg/m³ HR foam, adapts to the body, evoking the flexible tension of a sail in the wind.
The cushions are attached with concealed zippers, ensuring stability without compromising the clean lines. Fully removable upholstery, designed for easy maintenance and extended lifespan.
More than just an object, it's a piece conceived to stand the test of time in a specific place: optimized like a naval structure and precise like an architectural intervention, where comfort becomes an experience.
